Virtual Computer Room
Service Overview
Virtual Computer Room provides a virtual computing environment for teaching and learning purpose. It allows students and staff to access the specialized software from their own personal computer or mobile device remotely. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Getting started
Access
User can access Virtual Computer Room at https://vdesktop.um.edu.mo by using web browser or VMware Horizon Client from campus. For off-campus access, please connect to SSL VPN first.
Equipment
There are 80 virtual computers installed with English Windows on a first come, first served basis.
Software
The list of software installed can be found here.
Important Notice
- User can only have 1 session at a time.
- For each session, user can only use 8 hours. A reminder message will be popped up for the last 10 minutes. When the time is up, the session will be closed and user will be logged off from computer.
- User cannot access Internet in Virtual Computer Room.
- Since the computer will be restored to the original settings after closing the session, any changes in C: and D: will be lost. Please save your files to Home Directory (H:) before log off.
