Wired Network Service
Service Overview
The Wired Network Service provides stable and secure network connectivity across the University of Macau campus, including offices, classrooms, and student residential areas. Wired connections are available via network sockets labeled with “D-FD” or “D” indices. These sockets are typically installed in offices, classrooms, and dormitories. Please note that some sockets may be obscured by furniture.
Getting started
To access the campus network:
- Plug your network cable into a designated socket.
- Configure your computer according to the setup guidelines.
- Authenticate using your UMPASS credentials.
Once authenticated, your device will be assigned a dynamic IP address through IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication, ensuring secure access control.
