UMDrive

Service Overview

UMDrive is an on-premises cloud storage system. It provides UM staff a storage space where they can upload, access, synchronize and share the files  in campus or out of the campus.

The system determines the access by user’s department and files permission setting. Through the permission settings, user can establish file sharing space between different working groups. It allows users easily and securely access and share files on any device, anytime and anywhere.

Getting started

Functions

  • Support common file operations such as upload / download / rename / copy / move / delete / create directory
  • Support file, picture, music, video preview function
  • Support sharing files to internal and external users
  • Sharing files can be set with different access rights and limited periods. External sharing also has access passwords for security.
  • Support Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and web access
  • Support full text search
  • Support file history version

Application

  • Academic and administrative staff can use.
  • To enable external sharing function, please send a request to the ICTO Help Desk with approval from the department’s supervisor
  • To create department shared library, please contact ICTO Help Desk for more information.

Quota

Personal library: 100GB (by default)

Notes

  • Please be reminded to read the Guidelines on Handling Confidential Information for details.
  • There is no backup function for this service. Please confirm before deleting the file permanently. Any file will not be able to restore after permanent deletion.
