Microsoft Termination of Security Updates for Older Versions of Internet Explorer & Windows 8 on 12th January, 2016

To: All students

Referring to the news released by Microsoft, security updates, compatibility fix and technical support will no longer be provided for older versions of Internet Explorer (IE 8, 9 and 10) starting from 12th January, 2016.

If you are still browsing websites with IE 8, 9 and 10, for preventing security flaws and threats, it is recommended to update the version through Microsoft website as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, 12th January 2016 was also the last day for Windows 8 security patches update from Microsoft. If the operating system of your personal computer is Windows 8, in order to protect the computers from security threats, you can choose to upgrade it to Windows 8.1 or Window 10 for receiving continual security updates from Microsoft.

In addition, the next version of Student Information Web Services (SIWEB) is being revised to support the latest version of web browsers. At this moment, there might be display problem on Add/Drop function with IE 11. You can fix it with the configuration of “Compatibility View Settings” of IE 11.
